Cortina d’Ampezzo Rifugio Mietres El Brite de Larieto
Partendo dalla Ciclabile delle Dolomiti in località Chiave si sale attraversando la bella frazione di Cortina con le sue case caratteristiche ricavate dagli antichi Tabià. Si continua su strade sterrate affiancando l’area di atterraggio dell’elicottero del Suem nei pressi del Codivilla.
Incontriamo un’area adibita a vigna indicata come la vigna più alta d’Italia.
Saliamo con un bel percorso ampio con fondo abbastanza buono fin sotto i ghiaioni del Pomagagnon, e possiamo avere una ravvicinata e spettacolare visione della Punta Fiammes.
Da qui possiamo naturalmente ammirare l’intera vallata di Cortina contornata dalle sue splendide montagne, dalle Tofane al Cristallo, al Sorapis, all'Antelao (sistema 5), il Pelmo e il Beco de Mezodì e la Croda da Lago (sistema 1), iappartenenti alle Dolomiti riconosciute dall’Unesco come Patrimonio Mondiale dell’Umanità, ma anche altre ugualmente spettacolari.
Un lungo traverso con qualche saliscendi ci porta al bivio che sulla destra, con una breve discesa ci porta al Rifugio Mietres.
Ritorniamo al Bivio precedente e con una bella discesa in un bosco un po’ più rado arriviamo all’Agriturismo “El Brite de Larieto” con il suo ampio pascolo.
Infine la discesa verso Cortina, per qualche tratto sulla strada Provinciale e poi su strade sterrate , attraversando ampi prati con panorami stupendi, ci riporta fino alla frazione di Chiave, alla ciclabile delle Dolomiti, nostro punto di partenza.

Starting from the Dolomites cycle path at Chiave, we climb up through the pretty hamlet of Cortina with its characteristic houses made from the ancient Tabià. We continue along dirt roads, passing the Suem helicopter landing area near Codivilla.
We encounter an area used as a vineyard indicated as the highest vineyard in Italy.
We ascend along a wide path with a fairly good bottom until below the Pomagagnon screes, and we can have a close and spectacular view of Punta Fiammes.
From here, of course, we can admire the entire valley of Cortina surrounded by its splendid mountains, from the Tofane to Cristallo, Sorapis, Antelao (system 5), Pelmo and Beco de Mezodì and Croda da Lago (system 1), all part of the Dolomites recognised by Unesco as a World Heritage Site, but also other equally spectacular ones.
A long traverse with a few ups and downs takes us to the fork in the road on the right, with a short descent leading to the Mietres Refuge.
We return to the previous fork and with a nice descent through a somewhat sparser forest we arrive at the ‘El Brite de Larieto’ farmstead with its wide pastureland.
Finally the descent towards Cortina, for a few stretches on the provincial road and then on dirt roads, crossing wide meadows with wonderful views, takes us back to the hamlet of Chiave, to the Dolomites cycle path, our starting point.
